Dr. Tichy grew up in the St. Louis area and always aspired to be a veterinarian. He earned both his Bachelor of Science and his DVM degrees at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After graduation, he returned to the St. Louis area to be close to family and practiced as an associate veterinarian at a small animal practice. After meeting and dating in veterinary school, he and Dr. Cobb were married in 1991.
They stayed in the St. Louis area, working in separate veterinary practices for 5 years. In 1996, they purchased Laurie Animal Hospital and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area. Since arriving in 1996, they have witnessed major changes and growth on the west side of the lake. The clinic was remodeled and doubled in size in October of 2005. Besides working, Dr. Tichy and Dr. Cobb are both very involved with their church and family. They have two daughters. The oldest is in college and the youngest is now also in college. In addition, Dr. Tichy enjoys watching and following sports. Some of his favorite teams include the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and MU Tigers. He feels blessed to live and work in such a beautiful and friendly area and can't imagine being anywhere else.
Dr. Cobb grew up on a farm just outside of Montgomery City, Mo. She always enjoyed working with all of the animals, large and small, and knew that veterinary medicine was the profession for her. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and her DVM degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She then worked as an associate veterinarian in a mixed-animal practice in Chester, Ill. for 1 year. After she and Dr. Tichy were married in 1991, she moved to the St. Louis area and practiced in Hillsboro for 2 years and Arnold for 3 years. The doctors then made the decision to search for a practice of their own in a smaller community. Laurie Animal Hospital seemed the perfect fit, as it offered Dr. Cobb the opportunity to practice part time and still have the time she wanted to spend with their 2 daughters. Their oldest daughter is now in college and their youngest a sophmore in college. Outside of work and family, Dr. Cobb enjoys spending time in her flower gardens and keeps busy with church activities. She also enjoys watching sports with Dr. Tichy. The doctors have 2 cats and 3 dogs, all of which were strays in the Lake area that they adopted.

Paula EmeryReceptionist Supervisor
Paula has been part of the Laurie Animal Hospital family since 2015 as a receptionist.
Pictured with her are her two fur kids Mojo and Mocha. Paula came to us after she and her husband, Jeff retired from the Kansas City, MO Police Department after 26 years of service.
She says the best part of her job is interacting with the clients and their fur babies. In Paula's free time she enjoys motorcycle trips and crafts.
Sarah RuckerSenior Vet Assistant
Everyone knows and loves Sarah, our senior vet assistant. She has been with us since 2017. Pictured with her are Patch, Marcy, & Junior. Her cat Hugo and bunny Molly declined to be pictured. Sarah says she has wanted to work with animals since she was 7. She hopes to become a licensed vet technician in the near future. Sarah says she loves working at LAH because everyone here is like family and she loves helping animals.
In her free time, she loves to go hiking with her dogs, swim, movies and loves coffee.
Jackie just joined our family in September 2021 as one of our receptionists. She and her husband just moved here from Colorado in August.
Pictured with Miss Jackie are her babies Dyson (Dog) and Kenzie (cat), And she says they are spoiled rotten.
Jackie says in her free time she enjoys reading, crafts, and she loves to watch scary movies! Her favorite time of year is Fall.
Jackie says she loves working at LAH because she loves getting to pet all the fur babies that come in.
Elizabeth joined us in September 2021. She is one of our very sweet receptionists who greet you when you come to Laurie Animal Hospital. She moved here from Independence, Mo in 2010.

In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, Scrapbooking, and romantic comedy movies.

Jennie WardVet Assistant
Jennie joined the LAH family in June 2021and is one of our vet's assistants. Pictured with her are her kitty babies Peaches and Nubby.
Jennie says she loves working at LAH cause she loves being a part of saving animals and helping them. Her goal is to become a certified vet assistant and one day a licensed vet technician.
In Jennie's free time she enjoys playing video games, cooking, and sewing.
Jordan BattyVet Assistant

When asked what she likes about working at Laurie Animal Hospital, Jordan's response was that she has always wanted to work with animals her whole life. She has plans on becoming a licensed vet technician in the near future. In Jordan's free time she enjoys art, watching movies, and anything outdoors. She also says she's somewhat of a coffee snob.
Jordan says she loves being part of the LAH family and her favorite part of working here is helping animals. She says some days are hard but it's very rewarding.
Taylor TeelVet Assistant
Taylor started at Laurie Animal Hospital in May 2021 as a receptionist and has since moved on to being a Vet Assistant. but you will still see her upfront sometimes helping out the receptionists.
Pictured here with Taylor is her fur baby Toboe, her cat Milo was a bit camera shy. In her free time, Taylor enjoys reading, playing guitar, & video games. Taylor aspires to become a licensed Veterinary Technician, Her favorite part of being on the LAH team is getting to know the patients and their families.
Christy ShoemakeOffice Manager
Christy, our new Office Manager, Pictured with her are her fur babies Sophie (dog), Libby (cat), Bo (kitten). Christy's background is Medical office management but was excited to transition to the Veterinary office field because of her love of animals. In her spare time, she loves 'Lake Life', boating, fishing, dock time. She also enjoys antiquing & Concerts.
Liberty NoonanVet Assistant
Liberty joined us in March 2022 and has been a great addition to our LAH Family. Pictured with Liberty is her dog Koda but she also has a kitty named Lola who is not pictured. In her free time she enjoys Taking her dog on walks and car rides, cooking, and spending time with her Mom. She says she loves working at Laurie Animal Hospital because everyone is like family and everyone truly cares about the animals and their owners. Her future goals are to become a Vet Technician and work in an emergency clinic.
