Dr. Tichy grew up in the St. Louis area and always aspired to be a veterinarian. He earned both his Bachelor of Science and his DVM degrees at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After graduation, he returned to the St. Louis area to be close to family and practiced as an associate veterinarian at a small animal practice. After meeting and dating in veterinary school, he and Dr. Cobb were married in 1991.
They stayed in the St. Louis area, working in separate veterinary practices for 5 years. In 1996, they purchased Laurie Animal Hospital and moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area. Since arriving in 1996, they have witnessed major changes and growth on the west side of the lake. The clinic was remodeled and doubled in size in October of 2005. Besides working, Dr. Tichy and Dr. Cobb are both very involved with their church and family. They have two daughters. The oldest is in college and the youngest is now also in college. In addition, Dr. Tichy enjoys watching and following sports. Some of his favorite teams include the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and MU Tigers. He feels blessed to live and work in such a beautiful and friendly area and can't imagine being anywhere else.
Dr. Cobb grew up on a farm just outside of Montgomery City, Mo. She always enjoyed working with all of the animals, large and small, and knew that veterinary medicine was the profession for her. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and her DVM degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She then worked as an associate veterinarian in a mixed-animal practice in Chester, Ill. for 1 year. After she and Dr. Tichy were married in 1991, she moved to the St. Louis area and practiced in Hillsboro for 2 years and Arnold for 3 years. The doctors then made the decision to search for a practice of their own in a smaller community. Laurie Animal Hospital seemed the perfect fit, as it offered Dr. Cobb the opportunity to practice part time and still have the time she wanted to spend with their 2 daughters. Their oldest daughter is now in college and their youngest a sophmore in college. Outside of work and family, Dr. Cobb enjoys spending time in her flower gardens and keeps busy with church activities. She also enjoys watching sports with Dr. Tichy. The doctors have 2 cats and 3 dogs, all of which were strays in the Lake area that they adopted.
